The divine testimony of the resurrection of Jesus Christ...

And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
Luke 24:5-6

The divine testimony of the resurrection of Jesus Christ has been the target of attack for doubters and critics since time immemorial. Thus, the authenticity of today's verse from the Bible is widely questioned. However, the research into the text of Holy Scripture that has been evaluating numerous discoveries of old manuscripts right up to the present confirms that this passage has undoubtedly been in the original text from the beginning. So it can still be said: "The Lord is risen indeed!" (Luke 24:34).
The key to understanding the wonder of the resurrection is the Person of the Lord Jesus Himself. He is the Son of God, the living One, who as true Man could say of Himself here on earth, "As the Father has life in Himself, so he has granted the Son to have life in himself" (John 5:26). When He voluntarily took it upon Himself to go into death on the cross at Calvary, it was "not possible that he should be held by it", as Peter stated (Acts 2:24).
In the Person of Jesus Christ, we have the visible revelation of God, the Creator Himself, before us. Whoever considers this fact can understand that even natural laws, on which all our experience is based, must give way before such a Person. The Creator who called all things intob being can perform miracles that are inexplicable to us.
"But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep" (1 Corinthians 15:20). All who believe in Him as their Redeemer and Lord will follow Him and have a part in the "resurrection of life" (John 5:29).
Today's reading: 1 Samuel 25:1-17

OFFENDED IN CHRIST?

The Christian race must be run with lots of patience or else it will be bungled midway. If you are inpatient with Gods timing, you will not only get into trouble but may not be able to finish the race. A good number of backsliders derailed from their heavenly track because of impatience. In Matthew 11:6 Jesus...More

Jehovah appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre. And...

Jehovah appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre. And he sat at the tent-door in the heat of the day. And he lifted up his eyes and saw, and behold, three men standing near him.
(Genesis 18:1)

The spiritual elevation of Abraham in Genesis 18 and 19 is something very peculiar. He seems...More

THE HOLY SPIRIT

It is one thing to receive the anointing and another to keep growing on it. There are people who had the anointing, but today, everything has virtually ebbed out. It is possible to connect with the Holy Spirit and to continue to flow in the power of the anointing even at increasing levels. If this is your desire,...More

BEFORE YOU GET ANGRY

Yesterday we learnt it is not right for us to get angry with God or to take offence against Him, even if we experience the deferment of our hopes. The example of John the Baptist who earlier acknowledged Jesus as the Messiah, but later doubted Him because of his painful experience of incarceration is a warning...More
