The Lord Jesus Christ had explained...

And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
John 16:8

The Lord Jesus Christ had explained to His disciples that He would suffer and die for sinners on the cross, but that He would rise again and return to His Father in heaven. They were saddened at this, but the Lord told them that He would not leave them "as orphans", but that, in His place, He would send another Comforter or Helper, the Holy Spirit.
From Acts 2, we know that the Holy Spirit, as a Person of the Deity, came down to earth ten days after the Lord's ascension to heaven to indwell all who believe in the Son of God and His work of atonement.
For such the Holy Spirit is the power of their new, God-given life. He leads them to an understanding of God's Word, makes intercession for believers with God and is the guarantee that they will reach their heavenly goal and receive the blessing in all its fullness. Thus, it is no longer Christ, but the Holy Spirit, who is on earth. Consequently, there are three facts that leave the unbelieving world without any excuse.
Their sin is established: they would not subject themselves to the Son of God, but rejected and crucified Him.
In contrast to this injustice, God demonstrated His righteousness by raising Jesus Christ ad giving Him the highest place at His own right hand.
The presence of the Holy Spirit on earth testifies to the Lord's victory over the devil at the cross. "The ruler of this world is judged" (v.11), and his eternal punishment will catch up with him - and not only him, but all who follow him by rejecting the Son of God.
Today's reading: Ecclesiastes 9

BE STRONG

You don't charge someone to be strong if there is no task to be performed or if pressure is not required, either for motion or putting up resistance against an opposing force. In the physical realm, mere movement requires strength. This explains why a sick person or a person just recovering from an ailment finds it...More

God often proves to be other than people think...

Acts 5:4-5

God often proves to be other than people think. Here, for example, death struck a man suddenly for lying before God. Is God therefore severe, when he makes use of His power unreservedly towards the weak?
Let us first briefly examine what preceded this judgment. Holy zeal for the...More
