I can speak of Jesus on my travels (1)

She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.
But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

Mark 14:8; 1 Corinthians 1:27

I can speak of Jesus on my travels (1)
Anne was born in an educated Chinese family, but, surprisingly, she had never learned to read. She had spent her whole life looking after her parents, then one of her brothers who contracted tuberculosis. At the death of the latter, who left her some money, Anne was 82 years old. She wondered what she could do for the Lord, for she was a Christian. She visited some friends, but they didn't know what to suggest. Suddenly, she thought, "I have never left Shanghai. As I know the gospel well, I could speak about it on my travels."
Anne became an itinerant evangelist. She spent her money travelling by train all over China. Sometimes she went first class, where many of the passengers were important members of the government; she spoke to them about Jesus. Some became indignant at her efforts to evangelise them, but more of them smiled at her and prepared to discuss things with her.
During the final five years of her life, Anne covered a few hundred kilometers. She went to the desert of the far north of the country, right up to Urumqi. She reached the Himalayan plateau of Tibet by bus, over 11,000 feet high. She came right down to the south of Chiana, speaking of the gospel to whoever would listen.
(to be concluded tomorrow)
Today's reading: Acts 13:1-25

. He learned that God can only use subjection of Himself, weakness in self, and dependence upon Him only.
However, there was only one person, spiritually speaking, who was a true Nazarite, and that was our Lord Jesus. He shows us that it is not a negative thing to be separated from the world but rather a...More

Adam found an excuse:

Jeremiah 17:9

In a discussion on the above text with some young people, the question was asked: how are we to understand the word "deceitful" here? After some consideration they reached this conclusion: deceitful means that the heart finds an excuse for everything. This seems a very apt...More
