Living by divine grace

He gives more grace.
James 4:6

Living by divine grace
God's grace is greater than life's difficulties. Sometimes problems to do with our work or worries in the family grow over our head. We see no way out and wonder how things can go on. But grace opens a way for us and helps us to overcome hindrances and to bear with difficult situations.
God's grace is greater than the enemy's attacks. We are afraid of failing to see the enemy's cunning and therefore falling into his trap. How we need grace! It helps us to recognise his onslaughts and ward them off.
God's grace is greater than the world's temptations. The world bombards us with many attractive offers. Every day we are exposed to their influence. Grace alone can preserve us, so that the world does not conquer our hearts, and we do not participate in the ways and activities of godless company.
God's grace is greater than the lusts of sin. We know all too well that we have no power in ourselves against the demands of our indwelling sin. How easily are we in danger of succumbing to the temptations of sin in our everyday life! We are aroused in a stressful situation and soon react carnally. But grace is always there, every day, so that we do not sin, but live to the glory of our Lord.
Grace is a mine of wealth
Laid open to the poor;
Grace is the sovereign spring of health;
‘Tis life for evermore
(T.Kelly, 1769 - 1855)
Today's reading: 1 Kings 4
