A person’s salvation is a gift of God that...

By grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
Ephesians 2:8.9

A person's salvation is a gift of God that is totally undeserved. We cannot earn the forgiveness of our sins by good deeds. It is a gift that is offered freely to everyone. It costs the receiver nothing; yet it is by no means cheap. It cost God an immeasurable price. His own Son gave His life for it.

If God offers sinful people His grace absolutely free, why then is anyone lost? Why isn't everyone saved?

Let us here make a comparison with the right of reprieve that exists in many countries, and which was formerly enacted much more frequently than today. This right enables the head of state to grant a free pardon to convicted criminals. The punishment to which they have been sentenced is either completely or partially waived.

As a rule, it is expected that the delinquent will accept the pardon and thereby, at the latest, admit the crime and the justice of the sentence imposed on him.

That is precisely what God expects of us: we must bow before Him as sinners, confess our guilt to Him and consciously accept His grace by putting our faith in the redemptive work of His Son.

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1, 9).

The Psalm writes, I trust in You, O Lord; I say, "You are my God." My times are in your hand' (vv. 14-15 NKJV). As you walk with God you'll find that you spend more time waiting than you do receiving. And when you receive what you're waiting for, then...More

A Statement Of Purpose To Live By

Always give yourselves fully.' 1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV

Next time you pass a McDonald's, think about this statement from the one of the founders: Ray Kroc. Press on! Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent....More
