Justification

It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns?
Romans 8:33.34.

Justification
Everyone has sinned, and being guilty before his Creator can only expect God's righteous judgment that will bring condemnation. But here we read that God justifies! If the highest court of justice justifies someone, then he is pronounced free of all guilt and declared just. Therefore whoever is justified need fear no punishment.

How can God pronounce guilty persons free and yet act righteously? Because Christ bore the punishment at the cross for all who believe in Him. His atoning sacrifice is the eternally valid basis for our justification. The believer is "justified by his blood" (Romans 5:9).

How can we know that Christ truly suffered as the substitute for others and that His work of redemption was accepted by God? Because He "was raised because of our justification" (Romans 4:25). The resurrection of the Lord Jesus is the proof that believers are justified.

What causes God to declare people just? No achievement on our part; the source of our justification is solely His grace. We are "justified freely by his grace" (Romans 3:24).

Whom does God declare just? Everyone who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ and His atoning sacrifice: "by him everyone who believes is justified" (Acts 13. 39). Faith is the way and the sole principle by which anyone can become righteous before God.

We know "that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ" (Galatians 2:16).

Today's reading: Exodus 26:1-14 · Luke 10:1-16

CONDESCEND!

After seeing their plight, hearing their cries and feeling their pains, God came down to rescue the Israelites from Egypt. Our God is a mobile God. He comes down to deliver His own. As high as God is and even though He has His throne in Heaven, yet He condescends to meet the needs of His children on earth (Isaiah...More

EX-CHAMPION?

Although it is an unpleasant experience to be a defeated contender, becoming an ex-champion is a much more grievous experience. When you are not yet a champion, only a few people pay attention to you. But by the time you become a champion, you will be on the radar of many people, including your enemies. A champion has...More
