Conversion to God (1)

Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven,
Matthew 18:3

Conversion to God (1)
The Bible declares that man's condition after Adam's fall into sin was the very opposite of his original condition: day had turned to night; his conception of morality had deteriorated.

Clear judgment of right and wrong had become very nebulous. He considered his enemies friends and vice-versa. He called good evil and evil good and thought himself free and decent, whereas he was, in fact, enslaved in wickedness.

The only thing that can help mankind - redemption through faith in Jesus Christ - seems to him totally unnecessary. He regards God as his enemy, instead of accepting Him as his best friend. This is the result of wrong within him that he cannot overcome by himself. It makes him blind as to his condition and draws him in a wrong direction leading to perdition.

For this reason we have to allow God to work in our heart and thoroughly change us. Whoever wishes to be free from the power of sin and saved from eternal perdition must acknowledge that he is morally bankrupt and surrender to God. That is conversion. I declare myself incapable of changing my sinful being and entrust myself to Him, so that He can make all things new. The fallen creature must turn to the Creator, the lost child must return to the Father's house. Conversion opens up the way to salvation. God responds to this admission of guilt by receiving the believer and forgiving his sins.

Today's reading: Leviticus 16:1-22 · Psalm 64:1-11

OFFENDED IN CHRIST?

The Christian race must be run with lots of patience or else it will be bungled midway. If you are inpatient with Gods timing, you will not only get into trouble but may not be able to finish the race. A good number of backsliders derailed from their heavenly track because of impatience. In Matthew 11:6 Jesus...More

Jehovah appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre. And he sat at the tent-door in the heat of the day. And he lifted up his eyes and saw, and behold, three men standing near him.

The spiritual elevation of Abraham in Genesis 18 and 19 is something very peculiar. He seems...More

THE HOLY SPIRIT

It is one thing to receive the anointing and another to keep growing on it. There are people who had the anointing, but today, everything has virtually ebbed out. It is possible to connect with the Holy Spirit and to continue to flow in the power of the anointing even at increasing levels. If this is your desire,...More

BEFORE YOU GET ANGRY

Yesterday we learnt it is not right for us to get angry with God or to take offence against Him, even if we experience the deferment of our hopes. The example of John the Baptist who earlier acknowledged Jesus as the Messiah, but later doubted Him because of his painful experience of incarceration is a warning...More
