Their secret

He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of his Son. And this is the testimony, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; He who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
1 John 5:10-12

Their secret
Having been an invalid for 12 years, he could no longer walk and spoke only with difficulty. His wife cared for him with love and devotion. They were both believers who put all their trust in Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

A nurse came every day to attend to him. She was a friendly person, whose visits were greatly appreciated. So when the couple learned that their nurse had fallen ill and could no longer come, they regretted it deeply.

They were all the more surprised, as she had always seemed so healthy. The wife decided to visit her in the hospital where she learned that the person she had come to visit had a serious infection from which she did not expect to recover. All the greater was her astonishment to hear at the bedside of that woman, still so young, a stirring testimony of her faith: "I am happy and regret nothing. Seeing you two together daily, supported and comforted in the company of the Lord Jesus, I wanted to know your secret. So I bought a Bible, from which you obviously drew your faith, and now I have the Lord Jesus as my Saviour. Your living witness led me to Him." The wife, overwhelmed but nevertheless happy, returned to her husband, and they were able to thank the Lord together for what He had done in the heart of their nurse.

GOD PROMOTES

When God set out to deliver the children of Israel from Egypt, it was to take them out of captivity and bondage and to lift them up. God has come to take you out of your current location in the miry clay to your promised land - a land flowing with milk and honey. This simply tells us that the God of Abraham, Isaac...More

TRAIN UP YOUR CHILD 1

One major undoing of modern civilized society is an abounding generation of untrained children. This trend did not just start, but has been on for some time now. The result is that many untrained children of few years back have become parents themselves. It is the multiplier effect of their lack of proper home...More

A LIBERAL HEART?

, God asked the widow to feed the prophet before taking care of herself. At the end of the day, what was not enough became more than enough. To what extent do you practice giving as an individual, family, church or nation?

Those who never give will continue to beg, if you desire to...More

Hebrews 11:24-28

Author Zora Neale Hurston wrote a book titled Moses, Man of the Mountain. Published in 1939, it retells the story of Moses and the Exodus. Hurston altered details of the story for her own purposes, weaving in allusions to African American history, folklore, and song. She reflected...More
