Being born again

I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. The world through wisdom did not know God.
Luke 10:21; 1 Corinthians 1:21

Being born again
Replying to the religious man who had been interrogating Him, Jesus said, "Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God" (John 3; 3). Some time later He told His disciples, "Unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 18:3).The Lord Jesus set an objective and a condition before His questioners.

The objective: entering the kingdom of God.

The condition: being born again and entering like a little child.

Every human being is by nature in a domain from which God is excluded by the knowledge that man claims to have. Being unable to escape from this domain, he is invited by God to put his trust in the salvation that Christ offers him without resistance or incredulous reasoning. It is like finding the freshness of trust that a child manifests spontaneously.

Let us note that finding a childlike spirit does not mean abdicating one's intelligence, nor pretending to be naïve or an immature adult. It is much simpler, yet for some much more difficult: simply trusting God and believing His Word. Have we learned to silence the voice of human wisdom within us in order to listen to the wisdom of God? Have we come to Jesus with the simplicity and trust of a child so as to enter that divine domain, the kingdom of God?

Today's reading: 2 Chronicles 17:1-19 · Revelation 5:1-14

The Psalm writes, I trust in You, O Lord; I say, "You are my God." My times are in your hand' (vv. 14-15 NKJV). As you walk with God you'll find that you spend more time waiting than you do receiving. And when you receive what you're waiting for, then...More

A Statement Of Purpose To Live By

Always give yourselves fully.' 1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV

Next time you pass a McDonald's, think about this statement from the one of the founders: Ray Kroc. Press on! Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent....More
