Jesus Christ offers everyone who accepts Him perfect...

Christ Jesus, who gave himself a ransom for all.Behold, now is the day of salvation.
1 Timothy 2:5.6; 2 Corinthians 6:2

Jesus Christ offers everyone who accepts Him perfect freedom. It cost Him a lot, for He had to endure suffering and death on the cross to obtain it for us.

The world, however, has other ideas. People do not believe in Christ; so they live as though He did not exist, and as if His resurrection and exaltation as the Lord were pure fantasy and His promise to return mere wishful thinking.

But the Bible teaches us otherwise. Nobody will be an unbeliever for ever! Eventually the truth will catch everyone up, at the latest when the threshold to eternity has already been crossed. That is why we repeatedly deal with this question.

God offers his grace to all now. But so many despise His grace, refuse it and persist in their unbelief. At the last judgment they will have to face facts; there will be no possibility of a change of opinion.

When Jesus Christ appears with the authority of the supreme Judge, nobody will doubt any longer. "Every eye will see him" (Revelation 1:7), and He will call the world to account for rejecting God and Himself, the Son of God.

Nor will there be any doubters when the dead are resurrected for judgment before the great white throne (cf. Revelation 20:11-15).

Then there will be only everlasting regret that God's grace was rejected. Today, however, His grace is still being offered.

Today's reading: 2 Chronicles 24:1-27 · Revelation 11:12-19
