His holy One

You will not leave my soul in sheol, nor will you allow your holy one to see corruption.
Psalm 16:10

His holy One
The Lord Jesus led a perfect life here on earth. He obeyed His God and served Him with great devotion. No resistance or suffering could prevent Him from living piously and righteously. As a consequence God constantly took unlimited pleasure in the Man Christ Jesus, for He was in deed and truth "his holy One".

It must therefore have been extremely difficult for Christ to die at the early age of roughly thirty-three years. It was not what He deserved! In Psalm 102:23.24 He said prophetically: "He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days. I said, Do not take me away in the midst of my days." Despite His irreproachable conduct He had to lay down His life. It caused Him undeniable suffering. That was why He expressed His requests to the One who could deliver Him from death with vehement cries and tears in the garden of Gethsemane on the night before His crucifixion (cf. Hebrews 5:7).

He was nevertheless full of great confidence at the same time. Jesus Christ knew that because of His godly life God would not leave Him in death, but would raise Him up three days later. God would not allow His "holy One" to see corruption. With such trust Jesus went to Calvary to lay down His life there.

We can contemplate His great sacrifice, which was necessary for our salvation, and rejoice that God raised Him up after the work was accomplished.

Today's reading: 2 Chronicles 27:1-9 · Revelation 13:11-18

FASTING IS NECESSARY

To relate with the Holy Spirit, you must be holy. You must also exercise a living faith, pray and fast. Some people will tell you that because had finished the work of salvation, there is no need to fast. To them, fasting is completely needless and is some form of self-inflicted punishment. But they forget that...More

ATTENTIVE TO THE MASTER'S INSTRUCTIONS?

Often, we miss many opportunities, breakthroughs and victories because we fail to see the details of the instructions given to us on a subject. A multinational company once held a promotional exam for...More
