Our verse for today is one of the...

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and for ever.
Hebrews 13: 8.

Our verse for today is one of the best known in the Bible, and rightly so. The fact that Jesus Christ does not change makes everyone who has entrusted his life to the Saviour exceedingly happy. Do we not all long for stability and reliability in an environment that is becoming more and more unstable and chaotic? Where can we find security and a firm anchor for our life?
Jesus Christ alone, the Son of God, can grant us what we long for deep down in our heart. He never changes. He takes care of our yesterday, taking away all our guilt, our failure, our shame and our burdened conscience, if we confess it all to Him sincerely.

Today He provides all that we need, if we go through our life alongside Him - with love that He shows us and that we can pass on to others; with strength for important and lesser duties; with wisdom to make the right decisions; with the awareness, too, of what He grants us and our need to thank Him for it; with patience to bear our burdens and our blessed hope, so that we are not discouraged.

What about tomorrow? Whoever is secure in Jesus Christ is not anxious regarding the future. Nor does he withdraw from any future challenges that life brings along. He knows that Jesus Christ is "the same for ever".

A believer regards the future in this perspective, even if it looks bleak. It truly is worth yielding one's life to the Lord Jesus and entrusting our yesterday, today and tomorrow to Him.

Today‘s reading: Numbers 1: 22 - 37 · Matthew 1: 18 - 25

(Titus 1:2-3)

THE NON-LYING GOD (2)
I can lie. Titus could too, and so could the Cretans. But God can not lie. I can deceive. But...More

When You Have A Vision

I was not disobedient to the vision.' Acts 26:19 NIV

When God gives you a vision for your life, you need to know how to:

(1) Hold it. Your vision is governed by a time frame: If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place.' (Habakkuk 2:3 NLT) Some of us can...More

Thoughts on the Gospel of John (113)

He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves me, let him follow me; and where I am, there my servant will be also. If anyone serves me, him my Father will honour.
John 12:25.26.
