Right at the beginning of His public ministry Jesus...

Repent, and believe in the gospel.
Mark 1:15

Right at the beginning of His public ministry Jesus told His listeners (and us, too) to repent and believe in the gospel. Repentance, that complete change of heart by which we break with all the wrong of our past, is closely linked with faith in the gospel.
What does "believe in the gospel mean"? Quite simply, accepting the good news that Jesus announced. Having faith in this good news expresses confidence in Him, just as accepting what people state expresses the trust you put in them.

On this pathway of faith there are hindrances. They may be attractions like riches or power- seeking, or even, in some regions of the world, persecution. They can also be purely personal like the fear of being rejected and doubts. We must break free from these hindrances and cast ourselves on God to proceed. Faith puts one's confidence totally in God, who can save us from sin and death.

Believing the gospel is also living by it, living by Jesus' sayings, for it is in everyday life that trust in God proves to be real, as we discover that Jesus' saying are indeed true. They have the power to give us hope, joy and strength when we are being tested. Finally, living by the gospel enhances spiritual growth: loving freely, serving humbly in our joy over the presence of Christ, living out this way of life in the peace of His grace and the strength of the light He gives.

BROKENNESS

In your relationship with God, one place you need to get to is the place of brokenness. To be broken is to have some form of injury that makes the object less than a whole. In spiritual parlance, it is to break or subdue the flesh in order to be more profitable to the kingdom of God. Why do you need to be broken?...More

DELIVERANCE: DIVINE ASSURANCE

When God speaks, that settles it. He reigns forever. When He gives a decree, it is forever. When He says "surely", it means surely. When He says surely, it will be well with me, nobody can change it. He says surely, by His stripes I am healed, and nobody can change this. He says surely, everything I do shall...More
