A slave to drugs

The grace of God, which carries with it salvation for all men, has appeared.

God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

Titus 2: 11 (J.N.D.); 1 John 5: 11.

A slave to drugs
Mandy had an unfortunate childhood and has been addicted to drugs since her youth. In the course of time the doses she took increased considerably, and she was in hospital several times. Her condition deteriorated constantly. The doctors told her that she did not have much longer to live.

In this desperate situation a Christian couple took her in. Mandy declared that she would have nothing to do with religion and praying. When she was suffering badly from withdrawal symptoms, the couple took exceedingly great care of her, and other Christians helped.

Gradually Mandy gained in confidence. She no longer resisted when people spoke of Jesus, but listened attentively. The moment came one day when she asked Jesus Christ to save her from all sins and from her bondage. Later she testified, "I am so happy: I now believe in Jesus! But I feel so unworthy: I cannot give Him anything."

The damage done by drugs, however, could not be reversed. Mandy's body became weaker and weaker. She explained to her friends that she would soon enter eternal life with Jesus Christ. Then, one day, she collapsed in the street and a few hours later she was with her Redeemer in glory.

God's grace appeared as the source of salvation for everyone. Jesus Christ accomplished the work of redemption on the cross. Through faith in Him everyone can be freed from guilt and addiction and receive eternal life.

Today‘s reading: Numbers 7: 30 - 65 · Matthew 5: 33 - 48

FALSE PROPHETS AND THEIR PROPHECIES-FOOLISH PROPHETS

The word of Jehovah came unto me, saying: Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say unto them that prophesy out of their own heart, Hear ye the word of Jehovah. Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow after their own spirit, and have seen nothing!...More

EVERYONE NEEDS A MIRACLE

Some years ago, I was invited to be the guest speaker at a garden party in an exclusive, highbrow residential area. Because I arrived at the venue quite early, I was made to sit for a while in the house of my host. The house was an exquisite parade of wealth and splendour. I had never seen such brazen display of...More

FOR CHRIST'S SAKE DON'T!

A negative change is generally abhorred by men. Everyone craves progress. We always desire to keep ascending the ladder of success. No one wants to make a u-turn in the journey of greatness. The greatest journey whose end has the greatest significance is the journey to Heaven. This journey is only made in Jesus...More
