Praise and testimony

Make a joyful shout to God, all the earth! Sing out the honour of his name; make his praise glorious. Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will declare what he has done for my soul.
Psalm 66: 1.2.16.

Praise and testimony
The author of this psalm invites the whole earth to praise God, even to shout for joy thereby. He anticipates the day when the entire earth will bow down and sing to celebrate the majesty of Him who is our great God.

He expresses His praise to God for the ways He has delivered His people in the past, as if he had experienced them, calling on the believers to . Israel had been delivered on numerous occasions in their history. Believers of every age can express their gratitude to God for their own deliverance.

After twenty centuries of Christianity our existence today as believers proves God's faithfulness and power. Despite persecution and heresies aimed at its destruction, the Church of God still exists all over the world.

After recalling the works of God generally, the writer of the psalm appeals to his readers to listen to his own experiences of God's blessing. His personal account, related in humility, is convincing enough to lead others to faith.

Christians do know of deliverance and can speak knowingly of their Lord. When God answers our prayers, it is not because of our merits, but in virtue of His goodness and mercy. That is all the more reason for us to express our joy freely.

Today‘s reading: Numbers 19: 11 - 22 · Matthew 12: 38 - 45

NEGATIVE LIVING

Life comprises of positive and negative elements. As a matter of necessity, it is not good for someone to opt for negative living. The fact that Jesus Christ was destined to die for the sin of the whole world does not exonerate Judas Iscariot from the evil that led him to the idea of betraying the King of Glory....More
