A wrong classification (2)

Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.
John 12: 24.

A wrong classification (2)
Opening the book he had bought that day, the farmer was surprised to read its title: "The New Testament". He needed to read only a few lines to realise that he had been mistaken: He had been sold a book on religion. He slammed it shut in his fury and put it in his bookcase, resolved to change it at the earliest opportunity, and to complain to the shopkeeper about the incompetence of his assistant.

But our farmer fell ill. After spending a few days in bed, he became bored and asked his wife to give him something to read. She went over to the bookcase and discovered a little black book that she had never noticed there before.

"Do you know this book?" she asked. "Have you ever read it?" He then explained how he had obtained it.

"Well, read it. It might be interesting."

With a certain amount of ill will the farmer accepted the book. Soon, however, he was so engrossed in the reading matter that he forgot everything else. The account of the life, work, suffering and death of the Lord Jesus made a strong impression on him. One phrase in particular struck him through its personal appeal: . Hesitating no longer, he knelt down at the foot of his bed and cried out, "Lord Jesus, Son of God, Saviour of the world. I want to come. Here I am: save me!"

And he found peace for his soul and his conscience.

Today‘s reading: Deuteronomy 16: 1 - 17 · Matthew 26: 59 - 75

My times are in Your hand'Psalms 31:15 NKJV

The Psalm writes, I trust in You, O Lord; I say, "You are my God." My times are in your hand' (vv. 14-15 NKJV). As you walk with God you'll find that you spend more time waiting than you do receiving. And when you receive what you're waiting for, then...More

A Statement Of Purpose To Live By

Always give yourselves fully.' 1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV

Next time you pass a McDonald's, think about this statement from the one of the founders: Ray Kroc. Press on! Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent....More
