God’s moral standards remain unchanged, because...

The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age.
Titus 2: 11.12.

God's moral standards remain unchanged, because God Himself does not change. "You shall have no other gods before me. ... You shall not kill. You shall not commit adultery. . Our Creator can rightfully make these demands of us.

For centuries these moral principles served as a basis for legislation in Europe. Today, however, God is largely ignored; or mankind decides, independently of God, what is good or evil. So it has come about that much that God designates as evil in the Bible, is tolerated or even encouraged.

Christians who are guided by the Bible will of course not compel others to live according to the Christian principles that they themselves hold. Contrariwise, however, the fact that courts of law and other authorities often put pressure on Christian families to adhere to things that their conscience disallows is a cause for concern.

How are we to live in such a situation? First we must accept the "grace of God that brings salvation". Thereby we obtain the forgiveness of our sins and new life through Jesus Christ. Then that same grace teaches us to live soberly in a personal sphere, righteously in our dealings with others and godly in our relationship with God Himself, especially by refusing to compromise in matters on which the Word of God is clear and specific.

Today‘s reading: Deuteronomy 17: 8 - 20 · Matthew 27: 11 - 26

JESUS IN YOUR BOAT

No doubt, life in a sense is like the sea. A characteristic of the sea is that storms of varying degrees arise, putting the lives of those sailing on it in jeopardy of being drowned. In Jesus' Name, the storms of life will not be able to drown you, your family and your business. While literal storms are natural...More
