“Good bye till later” - All The Good Seed Daily Devotionals for 2025

As for me, I trust in you, o LORD; I say, You are my God. My times are in your hand.

"Good bye till later"
A Christian lady had this experience: "I was in hospital for a thorough check on my health. A partition separated my bed from that of a young patient suffering from a terminal illness. The doctor treating her had given up any treatment to cure her, and as she was suffering badly she was given strong sedatives. One day, when she was answering the telephone, I heard her say to her caller, "I shan't ever get better. I want to go back home. I would like to die at home."

Those last words pierced my heart. She was going to die, and she knew it. Was she ready to meet God? Approaching her bed, I asked the Lord to give me the words to touch her heart. Approaching her bed, I spoke of Jesus, His sacrifice on the cross which grants us eternal life. I repeated the words that the Lord said to Nicodemus that have led so many people to find faith: .

She looked at me and said with a smile, "You know, I am a believer, too." The next day she left to "die at home". As I said good bye to her, she pointed to heaven and said, "Yes, good bye till later: we'll see each other again up there."
