Helplessness
We cannot fail to notice the increasing perplexity in the fields of economics, finance and politics. Although we should trust the ability of well-educated, competent people in key positions to solve the problems, we slither from one crisis to another.

Five years ago today a journalist gave his article on an EU summit the headline "The peak of perplexity". Was the writer aware that he was stating something that Jesus Christ prophesied some 2,000 years previously: the helplessness of desperate nations? What has caused all this confusion and insecurity? The answer is not difficult to find: if man tries to get along without God, he must suffer the consequences. Is it any wonder that he finds no solution and is at his wits' end?

How do we deal with helplessness in our own life? God encourages us to seek His aid by means of prayer and discover His thoughts by reading the Bible. When we are at a loss to know what to do, He is ready to help: .

God's wish is not to trouble us but to draw us to Himself and trust Him in times of crisis.
