Our testimony

What does the LORD require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?
Micah 6: 8.

Our testimony
When we use certain forms of public transport we have to put a ticket with a magnetic strip into a machine that reads the information showing our right to use the vehicle. One or two generations ago this technology did not exist. Ticket collectors and conductors had to punch a hole in the ticket. It was tedious work for the employees with the thousands of passengers travelling daily at peak hours.

One such retired ticket collector, who had spent his whole life doing this work, once stopped a woman he happened to meet.

"Madam, I should like to thank you," he began, but was interrupted by her question, "What for?"

"For years you have been passing the gate in the underground where I collected the tickets, and every time I gave you back your ticket, you said, ʼThank youʻ and with a nice smile added, ʼEnjoy your dayʻ. I often wondered why you had such a peaceful, happy look. Then, one day, when you were searching for your ticket in your handbag, I noticed that you had a Bible. I thought that must be where you found your happiness. So I bought a Bible, too, and through reading the Word of God, I had the joy to get to know the Lord Jesus Christ as my Saviour."

What power becomes apparent, unbeknown to us, in a life simply lived with the Lord Jesus! What a powerful way of leading souls to Him!

Today‘s reading: 2 Samuel 23: 13 - 39 · John 2: 1 - 12

My times are in Your hand'Psalms 31:15 NKJV

The Psalm writes, I trust in You, O Lord; I say, "You are my God." My times are in your hand' (vv. 14-15 NKJV). As you walk with God you'll find that you spend more time waiting than you do receiving. And when you receive what you're waiting for, then...More

A Statement Of Purpose To Live By

Always give yourselves fully.' 1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV

Next time you pass a McDonald's, think about this statement from the one of the founders: Ray Kroc. Press on! Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent....More
