The miracle that we shall be dealing with in some of our future meditations is the only one reported in all four gospels.

As so often, Jesus was on a journey. He had heard that John the Baptist, who announced His coming and prepared the way for Him, had been killed. That affected Him, for he knew that they were already planning His death. He wanted to be alone and withdrew to a ship with His disciples. When He landed, a multitude was already waiting for Him. Jesus saw them and was "moved with compassion" for they were like sheep ). How good it is to feel His sympathy!
