From the Koran to the gospel

Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures. He was buried, and rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.

He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through him.

1 Corinthians 15: 3.4; Hebrews 7: 25..

From the Koran to the gospel
An Egyptian once told me: "As a child I used to play under palm trees on the bank of the Nile. Later I studied the Koran and became a good Muslim. Five times a day I used to kneel on the ground to pray toward Mecca, and I observed Ramadan, the month of fasting.

"Then I studied in Germany, where I heard more about Christ. Until then He had been merely a prophet, as the Koran teaches. But then I made the acquaintance of a Christian with whom I enjoyed discussing things. I hoped to convert him to Islam.

"What do you do with your sins?" he asked me. - "I pray, and they are forgiven me." Then he penetrated deeper: "Wouldn't God be unjust, if He forgave sins just like that? What about His holiness? Mustn't there be a righteous foundation for Him to deal properly with our sins?"

"I had no answer for that. I bought a New Testament and read it. What a difference there was between the contents and what I had learnt! Here was a message of love, but also of righteousness. God loved people so much that He gave His only begotten Son. Indeed, . My sins have been wiped out, but at what a cost! Jesus Christ died on the cross for them. That is the righteous foundation on which God can forgive sins. Jesus is the Son of God. He died to atone for the sins of all who believe in Him. And I, too, am now one of them".

Today‘s reading: 2 Kings 8: 1 - 15 · John 19: 17 - 24

The only true attitude for the Christian is that of dependence...

I am come from heaven, not that I should do My will, but the will of Him that has sent Me.
(John 6:38)

The only true attitude for the Christian is that of dependence. The moment we get off the ground of dependence on God we are sure to come to grief. This is true both individually...More

Are You Feeling Insecure? (3)

The Lordsaid to me, "Now, I have put my words in your mouth." '
Jeremiah 1:9 NIV

The people God calls usually start out feeling ill-equipped and insecure. Indeed, if you jumped and said, No problem, Lord, I can handle that,' He wouldn't call you at all. You say, but I've made so many...More

CO-PILOT USED SKY DEVIL' LOG IN

Be reminded that evidence from the cockpit voice recorder suggests that Mr. Andreas Lubitz, 27, the killer co-pilot of GERMAN WINGS FLIGHT 9525 locked the cock pit door when Capt Patrick Sondenheimer, 34, also of Dusseldorf city, left for a toilet break and used controls to override the entry code, crashing the plane...More
