Up in the loft

As the heavens are high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
Psalm 103:11.12.

Up in the loft
Martina had been brought up in a Christian family, but then she had led her life not according to the will of God, but as she herself pleased: twenty long years without God, twenty wasted years including adultery, divorce and imprisonment.

One day she found a Bible up in the loft. It wasn't her intention to seek after God, but God sought her! Martina opened the book and by chance, as she thought, read the following words:

"Woe to the rebellious children, says the LORD, who take counsel, but not of me, and who devise plans, but not of my Spirit, that they may add sin to sin." That was an account of her own life! She read on: "Thus says the LORD: In returning and rest you shall be saved, in quietness and confidence shall be your strength, but you would not." Her cry came from her heart: "Lord; I will!" She went on reading: "He will be very gracious to you at the sound of your cry; when he hears it, he will answer you" (Isaiah 30:1.15.19).

Martina stopped there, and went over these words once more. And there up in the loft she obtained the forgiveness of her guilt. To all who confess the sins of their life to Him, trusting in Jesus Christ by faith, God grants forgiveness willingly and readily.

God's forgiveness is perfect, final and unconditional for all to turn to Him.

Today's reading: Nehemiah 7:39-73 · Proverbs 14:1-12

A Statement Of Purpose To Live By

Always give yourselves fully.' 1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV

Next time you pass a McDonald's, think about this statement from the one of the founders: Ray Kroc. Press on! Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent....More
