Reconciliation with the God of peace

If when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Be reconciled to God.

Romans 5:10; 2 Corinthians 5:20.

Reconciliation with the God of peace
Two friends are arguing. Their previously good relationship is becoming tense, on the point of breaking up. They stop speaking to each other: communication has become too difficult. Gradually these friends become strangers to one another. Such an outcome can be avoided solely by reconciliation. Then friendship and harmony are re-established.

Does God need to be reconciled to us, or is it we ourselves who need to be reconciled to Him? We, after all, caused the enmity (see today's verse).

Our relationship with God was indeed destroyed through the evil that we do, each one being lured by lying, pride, egotism etc.

Yet God took the initiative for reconciliation with His creatures, even His enemies. Jesus Christ was sent by God to be laden with all our sins. He has "made peace through the blood of his cross" (Colossians 1:20), so that we might have peace with God, founded at such a cost for all who believe and for ever.

Reconciliation is a wonderful truth. When we become Christians everything changes in our relationship with God. We were His enemies, we have become His friends. We were under condemnation because of our sins, now we have been forgiven. We were at war with God, now we have a peace .

Today's reading: Esther 1:10-22 · Proverbs 18:1-12

Behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a Son, and thou shalt call His name Jesus: for He shall save His people from their...More

TOTAL COMPLIANCE REQUIRED

When we teach about tithes and first fruits, some people think that it is the pastor's way of making money but they are making a great mistake. When you put God first, He will make sure that your blessings are irreversible. But if you decide to give Him second place in your life, you may not be happy to see what...More

FACING OUR PAST

Like Paul,we don't need to parade our failures or to pretend they didn't happen. Instead, we can thank the Lord that through His grace and power, our past is forgiven, our presence is changed, and our future is bright with hope for all he has prepared for us. - David...More
