A victim of thieves

Jesus said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
Luke 10:30.

A victim of thieves
The world is God's creation. However, since the majority of people will not serve God, they have become dependent on Satan. Jesus Christ calls this great adversary "the ruler of this world" (John 12:13). So we need not be surprised, if we "fall among thieves", as it were, in the world and suffer harm.

We mean primarily harm in our soul. This could be harm that we ourselves did not cause. Far-reaching experiences, the lack of attention in our childhood, instances of rejection, abuse, mobbing etc. might have caused wounds that we sense for a long time, as they heal only very slowly.

The text for today comes from the parable that the Lord Jesus Christ told called "The Good Samaritan". Later we read: "When he saw him, he had compassion. So he went to him, bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him" (v. 34).

If we apply these words to ourselves, one thing becomes clear: the Son of God takes a great interest in us. He shows a loving concern for us and takes care of our wounds.

That gives us the courage to turn to Him with all our troubles and cares: those that others have caused, and those that result from our own guilt. He will forgive and heal!

Today's reading: Esther 9:23-10:3 · Proverbs 22:1-8

FASTING IS NECESSARY

To relate with the Holy Spirit, you must be holy. You must also exercise a living faith, pray and fast. Some people will tell you that because had finished the work of salvation, there is no need to fast. To them, fasting is completely needless and is some form of self-inflicted punishment. But they forget that...More

ATTENTIVE TO THE MASTER'S INSTRUCTIONS?

It is always good to pay close attention to instructions given by someone you claim to be your guide or guardian. Often, we miss many opportunities, breakthroughs and victories because we fail to see the details of the instructions given to us on a subject. A multinational company once held a promotional exam for...More
