God’s plan

Through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin.

Our Saviour Jesus Christ has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.

Romans 5:12; 2 Timothy 1:10.

God's plan
Countless people do not believe in God. Others believe only in a "God of love" who would not interfere with people's lives. However, God does not want us to have a vague idea of Him, for He has plans for us, and for each one in particular. Certain people suppose that the end of life is "going to heaven" but their knowledge about it goes no further.

To know God's plan and intentions we must first acknowledge Him to be the Creator, then as the One who has revealed Himself to mankind in different ways. He even became Man to meet us in our condition. He has given us the Bible whose texts are His own words. They reveal God's heart and show that man cannot approach our holy God, "for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). God tells us that He gave His only begotten Son to save lost man, His objective being to enable man to approach God in peace and receive eternal life (John 3:16). To achieve this Jesus came from heaven as a perfect Man, taking our sins upon Himself, so that we might not undergo their punishment: "The chastisement for our peace was upon him, and by his stripes we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5). Believing in God actually means accepting salvation by faith. His divine offer is still available today, for He wants all to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth (cf. 1 Timothy 2:4).

Today's reading: Micah 5:1-15 · Proverbs 29:1-9

(Mark 4:11)

The Lord Jesus told His disciples that they would be given an understanding in "the mystery of the kingdom of God." He also spoke of another class of people to whom everything would be spoken in parables; these He described as, "them who are without." How solemn that God should...More

Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
(Galatians 6:1-2)
