The Lord Jesus has promised to take all who...

I will come again and receive you to myself.

And thus we shall always be with the Lord.

John 14:3; 1 Thessalonians 4:17.

The Lord Jesus has promised to take all who trust in Him for salvation to be with Him for eternity. When it actually happens, can you imagine what the newspapers will report on the following day? Headlines like: "Millions of the world's inhabitants disappear" will bring varied reactions. Some will rejoice at first: they will never again be troubled by gospel preaching; there will be countless houses to occupy and bank accounts to plunder etc. Others may be perturbed by the sobering thought that the Bible was true after all, and rightly so! The last chance of salvation through Christ's work of redemption has gone; all that remains is God's judgment and hell.

The coming of the Lord Jesus for His own may have disastrous consequences for some people. Danger, suffering and chaos will be widespread: What will happen when the drivers of vehicles suddenly vanish from them? Or when teams of workmen and responsible office personnel are depleted without notice?

Bible teaching that has been rejected by those left here predicts subsequent calamitous times on earth. Life will certainly not get any easier. Then when God intervenes in judgment, none will be spared.

These thoughts are not sheer pessimism or foolishness: they should be seen as a warning not to let the opportunity of salvation pass by. God gave His Son to be the Saviour of the world. But the blessings of salvation are reserved solely for those who accept it by faith.

Please read Matthew 25, vv. 1-13.

Today's reading: Job 3:1-26 · Acts 5:33-42

Jesus says to her, Mary. She, turning around, says to Him in Hebrew, Rabboni, which means Teacher. Jesus says to her, Touch Me not, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, I ascend to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.

We have not a high priest not able to sympathize with our infirmities, but tempted in all things in like manner, sin apart.

PROVOKING POSITIVE CHANGE

Change is one event that is constant in life. Change denotes movement from one state to another. There are two categories of change: positive and negative. Due to the fact that change can either be positive or negative, Africans would say: "Change is good for the poor but bad for the rich". Change in life is...More

Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent. For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read...More
