Never again!

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it? I, the LORD, search the heart to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.
Jeremiah 17:9.

Never again!
"Never again!" How often have we heard this horrified cry? It is uttered at anything unbearable: murderous wars, the atrocity of genocide, inconceivable terrorism etc. One wishes that we might learn lessons from the past, but what is the use? Blood continues to flow in many regions of the globe, and the lack of balance everywhere justifies worrying. The fact is that, despite the praiseworthy wish for better human relations without horrors, man remains a wolf for mankind.

It is useless expecting rationalism in economic, political or social matters. The problem lies basically in each one of us. The Bible calls it sin, which has separated us from God and is at the bottom of all the disorder in our world.

The day when Jesus Christ was crucified, the greatest of all sins was committed. He was the One sent by God to save people. During His whole life He did nothing but good, stooping to relieve the misery of those He met. Yet men were united in demanding His death. What other proof is needed to show that the human heart is fundamentally wicked?

Let us not expect any improvement in the human race. Jesus did not come to improve the world, but to appear as the Saviour ready to settle the problem of sin for each of us, so that we are reconciled to God. He came to earth, for He loved sinful man, and His love led Him to give His life for us.

Today's reading: Job 22:1-30 · Acts 13:1-12

THE HOLY SPIRIT

It is one thing to receive the anointing and another to keep growing on it. There are people who had the anointing, but today, everything has virtually ebbed out. It is possible to connect with the Holy Spirit and to continue to flow in the power of the anointing even at increasing levels. If this is your desire,...More

LEADERSHIP BY EXAMPLE

Read:
.
The essence of the anointing of God in your life is not for show but for service. Service is a fundamental aspect of leadership. The moment you remove service from your life, there is no room for good leadership. People should see the good example you are showing and praise God for your life....More

Apollo 15

You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain. You are the same, and your years will not fail.
