“It’s not so important whether you get better or...

Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in you. In God (I will praise his word), in God I have put my trust; I will not fear.
Psalm 56:3.4.

"It's not so important whether you get better or not. What is decisive is that you put your life in God's hand and trust Him; what He does is good and right." These words had just been spoken to Mr Tian by his cousin.

They spoke together for a long time. The fear that had plagued the Chinese man on his sickbed gave way to Christ and His light. There was much that Mr Tian still did not understand, but He surrendered his life to Jesus and took the first step in the light.

"That night," Mr Tian said later, "I was able to sleep again for the first time. That strangulating fear had gone." Peace now filled the patient's heart. How ever things would turn out, his way would be in the light and not in the gloom of hopelessness. God granted him his health back. The day came when Mr Tian could leave the hospital, cured of his illness.

The light of the gospel shone in every department of his life, even in his relationship with his wife, from whom he had separated a long time ago. He wrote to her, whom he had put away, and whose name could not be mentioned in his presence: "Come back! I have become a Christian, and Christ will help us to make a fresh start." - "Is that the effect of the gospel?" his wife asked, amazed at the change in her husband. "Then I will go the way of Jesus with my husband."

Twelve other members of the family, among them Mr Tian's Buddhist mother, found Christ as their Saviour. Mr Tian ended his report with the words: "God's grace is indescribably great."
