Many people say their prayers at pre-determined times of...

Through him (Jesus Christ) we have access by one Spirit to the Father.

In Christ Jesus our Lord we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in him.

Ephesians 2:18; 3:11.12.

Many people say their prayers at pre-determined times of the day. Some believe that prayers should be said in consecrated places. Since God has no visible house on earth in which He dwells, such questions are of secondary significance.

Praying means speaking with God. We speak as though with a friend who is interested in me and well disposed towards me. Born again Christians have such a personal relationship with God - not because they are better than others, but because they know the Son of God as their Redeemer and Lord. They can therefore speak with their God unreservedly and tell Him all that concerns them. In doing so, they do not forget to thank Him, for having free access to Almighty God is indeed an extraordinary gift.

Are you acquainted with this access to God? If so, you can call on Him at any time, night or day, irrespective of where you happen to be. God hears everywhere, even if you only whisper or speak to Him in thought.

God grants believers who pray to Him inward peace and rest in all the circumstances of their life. His children know that the Father loves them, listens to them and cares for them.

"Therefore do not worry, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, What shall we wear? For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you" (Matthew 6:31-33).

Today's reading: Isaiah 6:1-13 · Acts 22:22-30
