Today's reading: Isaiah ch. 63

But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
Matthew 12:36
O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall show forth thy praise.

Psalm 51:15.

Permanent imprints
To my horror, I have discovered the imprint of a small foot on an area of flooring freshly cemented. My four children have been summoned together. "Who trod on the cement in spite of my warning to keep off?" No answer is forthcoming, but the size of the small shoe shows clearly who is guilty. That permanent imprint will remind him of his disobedience every time he passes by.
It is the same with certain of our wrongdoings. They can leave a permanent mark on our minds and on those of others around us, a painful impression which, in certain cases, cannot be effaced during our life on earth.
But let us remember, above all, that all our thoughts, all our words and all our actions are known by God in heaven. This thought that impresses itself on us might cause despair, were it not for the light of the gospel.
We ourselves cannot remove any of our sins from God's book. God Himself, however, will remove them for us if we come to Him, confessing our guilt and believing in His Son who died and rose again.
He has promised, "I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake; and I will not remember your sins. I have blotted out, like a thick cloud, your transgressions, and like a cloud, your sins. Return to me, for I have redeemed you" ().

THE GREAT DELIVERER

God is great but He humbles Himself to the level of His children to deliver them. The one who will deliver you must be stronger than the enemy holding you captive. The reason He is able to deliver is because He is stronger than all your enemies put together. This is why in

NO FOOD FOR THE LAZY MAN

Laziness is not a Christian virtue in any way. Our Lord Jesus Christ made this clear by His lifestyle of hard work while here on earth. A lifestyle of laziness is outrightly rejected in Scriptures typified by today's Bible reading. It is amazing that some people are still expecting God to rain manna on earth! It does...More
