An impressive exhibition on the subject “Egyptian Mummies” in a...

I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead.
Revelation 3:1.

An impressive exhibition on the subject "Egyptian Mummies" in a large town attracted many interested persons. More than 220,000 visitors participated in 2,800 guided tours. Those mummies were not only of historical interest; they can also provide important instruction in matters of faith. A pastor made the following comparison that accurately illustrates today's verse above.

"The Egyptians knew how to embalm their corpses so effectively that corruption hasn't taken place to the present day. Such mummies have been found in the pyramids and in graves. An interesting thing about them is that before the Egyptians laid the corpses in the coffins, they cleaned and dressed them to make them look alive. With lipstick and all kinds of colouring they were given an appearance of genuine life. But they were and remain corpses.

"I have the impression that Christendom is teeming with such types. There are people who to all appearances are Christian enough, but who know nothing of life from God, through which one's ego has died and one is ruled by the Spirit of God.

"I must say emphatically: it is absolutely wrong to assert that we are all Christians. We must insist that unless someone has been born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God! Do we really have life from God?"

"As many as received him (Jesus Christ), to them he gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in his name, who were born of God" (John 1:12.13).

Today's reading: Isaiah 66:1-24 · Mark 4:1-9

Another thing that can divert your attention is opening your mouth prematurely to reveal your secret to sympathetic friends'. Never share a testimony until it is...More
