Pray for wisdom (2)

‘For wisdom is better than jewels, and nothing desirable can equal it.' Proverbs 8:11 CSB

When King Solomon asked God for wisdom instead of power, fame, or riches, ‘God said to Solomon, "Since this was in your heart, and you have not requested riches, wealth, or glory, or for the life of those who hate you, and you have not even requested long life, but you have requested for yourself wisdom and knowledge that you may judge my people over whom I have made you king, wisdom and knowledge are given to you. I will also give you riches, wealth, and glory, unlike what was given to the kings who were before you, or will be given to those after you." (2 Chronicles 1:11-12 CSB). Did God keep His promise? Well, consider this: what would you get if you crossed Mickey Mouse, an oil magnate, the leader of a superpower nation, and Socrates? The most famous, richest, most powerful, wisest person on the planet! That's a fitting description of King Solomon in his time. He ruled the world's greatest empire. His merchant ships plied the seas, bringing him back the treasures of the earth. He designed and built some of the world's most important buildings, including the temple. He constructed reservoirs, parks, gardens, and vineyards. He mastered commerce, science, and literature. He became a poet laureate, a distinguished writer, and a gifted musician. He learned the incredible worth of wisdom, enjoyed all its benefits, and wrote: ‘"Accept my instruction instead of silver, and knowledge rather than pure gold. For wisdom is better than jewels, and nothing desirable can equal it."' (Proverbs 8:10-11 CSB). There are thirty-one chapters in the book of Proverbs - one for every day of the month. So here is a suggestion: why don't you read a chapter a day for the next twelve months and become wise?

BE TRULY ROOTED

You can overcome the attacks of the devil if you can simply obey God's Word. Before taking on the devil, be sure of your salvation because the salvation of many today is questionable. Many are pretenders and have really never answered the altar call for salvation at any time. At the time they should be answering...More

YOUR FIRST LOVE

As a Christian, your heart ought to be aglow with genuine love for Christ, unless you are not genuinely saved as a result of having not truly repented from your sins even though you have confessed Jesus. At the new birth experience, the Holy Spirit regenerates our spirit and fills it with deep and pure love for...More

Imitation or Genuine?

"All the prophets were prophesying before them. Then Zedekiah said, 'This is what the LORD says' All the prophets were prophesying this as well." - 1 Kings 22:10-12 NASB

Zedekiah understood what it meant to be a prophet. He knew the vocabulary and how to deliver prophecies. In similar ways, others...More
