Give your children confidence

‘May our sons flourish…May our daughters be…graceful.’ Psalm 144:12 NLT

Constantly tell your child that they’re loved, valuable, and capable. Otherwise, their self-evaluation will be based on their worst qualities and perceptions rather than their best ones.

Psychologists say that some of the world’s most successful people suffer from “imposter syndrome.” When interviewed, these people often express deep self-doubt, saying they don’t feel worthy of the position they hold or the high opinion others have of them. Where did that begin? At home. Often, this self-concept is formed before puberty—when a child has no clear sense of identity and feels unattractive, unintelligent, or useless. That’s when you, as a parent, need to speak into their life with wisdom and love. Reassure them that this season is just a short-term experience—like traveling through a tunnel from which they will certainly emerge. Be the one who helps them understand the emotional and physical changes that come with adolescence. Talk openly about the sexual awakening that’s about to occur and how to navigate it responsibly and morally. Not to do so is to leave them vulnerable—coping alone with questions they don’t yet have answers to. Yes, discipline and instruction are part of your role. But if your child constantly feels like you’re “on their back” instead of “on their team,” they may lose confidence and initiative, struggling to develop a healthy self-concept. And if your own parents failed to speak this way into your life, ask God to help you break that cycle—for your child’s sake. The psalmist David offers a beautiful prayer of blessing: ‘May our sons flourish in their youth like well-nurtured plants. May our daughters be like graceful pillars, carved to beautify a palace.’ (Psalm 144:12 NLT)

BE TRULY ROOTED

You can overcome the attacks of the devil if you can simply obey God's Word. Before taking on the devil, be sure of your salvation because the salvation of many today is questionable. Many are pretenders and have really never answered the altar call for salvation at any time. At the time they should be answering...More

YOUR FIRST LOVE

As a Christian, your heart ought to be aglow with genuine love for Christ, unless you are not genuinely saved as a result of having not truly repented from your sins even though you have confessed Jesus. At the new birth experience, the Holy Spirit regenerates our spirit and fills it with deep and pure love for...More

Imitation or Genuine?

"All the prophets were prophesying before them. Then Zedekiah said, 'This is what the LORD says' All the prophets were prophesying this as well." - 1 Kings 22:10-12 NASB

Zedekiah understood what it meant to be a prophet. He knew the vocabulary and how to deliver prophecies. In similar ways, others...More
