Kanye West Gives Speech Saying He Wants to "Change the Narrative" of His Divorce with Kim Kardashian

Looks like Kanye West is hoping to reunite with Kim Kardashian amid their divorce. Speaking at the Los Angeles Mission's Annual Thanksgiving event on Wednesday, Kanye reportedly said, per People, "The narrative God wants is to see that we can be redeemed in all these relationships. We've made mistakes. I've made mistakes. I've publicly done things that were not acceptable as a husband, but right now today, for whatever reason—I didn't know I was going to be in front of this mic—but I'm here to change the narrative."

He added that he wasn't going to let E! and Hulu "write the narrative of his family," explaining, "I am the priest of my own home."

"If the enemy can separate Kimye, there's going to be millions of families that feel like that separation is okay," Kanye said. But when God brings Kimye together, there's going to be millions of families that are going to be influenced to see that they can overcome the work of the separation, of trauma the devil has used to capitalize to keep people in misery while people step over homeless people to go to the Gucci store." He then added that he "needs to be back home."

Kanye's speech comes amid Kim Kardashian and Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson going public with their relationship. The couple have been seen on dates in both New York City and Los Angeles, and recently went public on Instagram together. A source tells E! News that "They are really happy and seeing where it goes. Pete has told her he doesn't want to see anyone else. She is telling some people they aren't super serious but she isn't seeing anyone else... She's trying to not make a big deal about it but is super into him. Kim is smitten over him and it's very exciting to her."
