Lilibet Diana

The first photo of baby Lili will probably be shared this weekend

Earlier this month, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared the happy news of their daughter, Lili's birth

Earlier this month, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared the happy news of their daughter, Lili's birth. The newborn, who's sister to two-year-old Archie, was born on Friday 4 June at 11:40AM in a hospital in Santa Barbara. She weighed a healthy 7 lbs 11 oz.

The couple simultaneously announced the meaning behind their little girl's name. Given the full name Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, she has been called after the childhood nickname of her great-grandmother, the Queen, and also after her late grandmother, Princess Diana.

Since the Sussexes stepped back as senior working members of the Royal Family in March 2020, the couple have adopted a more private approach to their lives, particularly when it comes to sharing details and photographs of their family. For that reason, we haven't yet seen a photograph of baby Lili, but we're predicting it could come soon: as soon as this weekend, in fact, if they remain in keeping with that they did when Archie was a baby.

After Archie's birth in May 2019, his parents did not pose for a photo on the steps of the hospital ward, like Prince William and Kate Middleton, or Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana. Instead, Harry and Meghan did a photo call with their new royal baby when he was two days old. The next time we saw Archie properly was just over a month after his birth, when the Duke and Duchess shared a photograph of him on Instagram in recognition of Father's Day.

It was shared on the now-inactive @SussexRoyal Instagram account with the caption, "Happy Father's Day! And wishing a very special first Father's Day to The Duke of Sussex!"

With Father's Day approaching once again, falling this Sunday, 20 June in both the UK and the US, it's highly likely that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will choose this as the day to debut their baby daughter. Now they no longer have an Instagram, instead they may share a photograph of Lili on their Archewell website, or via a charity's social media page (just as they did for Archie's first birthday).

Of course, they may decide not to share any pictures of Lilibet at all, but with the world awaiting a sneak peek of the newest royal baby, maybe they'll give us what we all want...
