Sir, we wish to see Jesus.

Getting to know the Saviour
Some Greeks came to Philip with the request: “We wish to see Jesus.” Presumably, they had heard something about Him, how He preached and worked in Israel. Now they wanted to personally get to know Him.

Perhaps you have also heard something about Jesus Christ, the Son of God. He came to earth as a real man about 2,000 years ago. He was born in Bethlehem and grew up in Nazareth. He never did anything evil or wrong. At the age of 30, He began to tell the people in Israel about God’s grace and to heal the sick. But most of them rejected Him. Eventually, they crucified Him on a cross, where He suffered and died.

Christ rose from the dead on the third day after that and ascended into heaven 40 days later where He now lives as a man. His death on the cross still has deep meaning for all of us today: He gave Himself as a ransom so that people could be saved (1 Timothy 2:6). But this doesn’t happen automatically. Everyone has to personally turn to the Lord Jesus and accept Him in faith as their Saviour.

If you are ready to take this step, you can speak to the Lord Jesus Christ through a simple prayer. He listens to you and wants to be your Saviour. In the Bible, you can learn more about Him. When you read the gospels, you will get to know Him better and better.
