Salvation from the court

And the Lord shut him in.
Genesis 7:16

Salvation from the court
Do you know the story of Noah? He lived pretty much near the beginning of human history. One day God told him that a flood of water would come over the whole earth. At the same time, Noah was given the task of building a ship in which people and animals could be saved from deadly floods. This ship had a door through which one had to enter in time in order to be safe.

Noah and his family believed God and went through the door into the ark. Others didn’t use this opportunity for rescue because they didn’t believe in a water disaster. Just before the flood came, God Himself closed the door. Now it was no longer possible to get inside from outside.

The door in the ark makes us think of the door of grace that God keeps open even to this day. He invites all people to be saved from judgment through personal faith in Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus Himself says: “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved” (John 10:9).

We do not know how long this door will remain open. When God closes it, it is closed for good and forever. Therefore, if you have hesitated to go in so far, do it today! Inside you are safe. Inside you are saved and in a happy relationship with God. Inside is light and life.

Today’s reading: 2 Kings 10:28-11:3 · John 21:1-6

Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
(Galatians 6:1-2)
