It is amazing what answers you can get when...

And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Saviour of the world.
1 John 4:14

It is amazing what answers you can get when you confront people with the message of the Bible.

I offer an elderly lady a Christian brochure and briefly explain its contents. Her hand hesitates. “I have my faith and I also go to church.” – “May I ask you who Jesus Christ is to you?” – At that, she looks at me rather uncomprehendingly and replies, “I’ve never really thought about it.”

Isn’t that staggering? This woman was quite religious – how often she will have heard the name Jesus and also pronounced it herself. Yet, when asked what Jesus Christ meant to her personally, she had no answer even now.

“I’ve never thought about it.” She was apparently content with religious forms and habits without, unfortunately, really knowing Jesus Christ and having a living relationship with Him herself. Yet the entire Christian faith depends on the fact that God’s Son became man to die on the cross for sinners, on the fact that Jesus Christ is the Saviour of the world!

Jesus Himself is the way to God the Father. That is why it is so necessary that we know Christ as our personal Saviour. Without a living relationship with Him, all religious acts are completely useless. They are then at best external forms, but without life, without content, and without future.

Those who feel that they are still missing something should not hesitate to follow Jesus’ call and turn directly to Him, the Saviour.

Today’s reading: Ezekiel 28:1-26 · Psalms 130:1-8

THE GREAT DELIVERER

God is great but He humbles Himself to the level of His children to deliver them. The one who will deliver you must be stronger than the enemy holding you captive. The reason He is able to deliver is because He is stronger than all your enemies put together. This is why in

NO FOOD FOR THE LAZY MAN

Laziness is not a Christian virtue in any way. Our Lord Jesus Christ made this clear by His lifestyle of hard work while here on earth. A lifestyle of laziness is outrightly rejected in Scriptures typified by today's Bible reading. It is amazing that some people are still expecting God to rain manna on earth! It does...More
