Lot lived with his family in Sodom...

Remember Lot’s wife.
Luke 17:32

Lot lived with his family in Sodom. The people living there were wicked and terrible sinners. Therefore, God brought His judgment upon that city. However, before that, God sent two angels to Lot to lead him out of Sodom. They urgently instructed him, “Escape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain” (Genesis 19:17).

So Lot, with his wife and two daughters, left the place of God’s judgment. But his wife turned around on the way and looked back at the city. She became a pillar of salt. Because she stopped halfway, she was lost. “Remember Lot’s wife” – this is a serious admonition to everyone who knows the way to salvation but has not yet taken it.

o This decision does not tolerate delay. God’s judgment on the world is coming soon. It is dangerous to postpone turning to God, because tomorrow may be too late.

o Salvation from eternal punishment requires personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for sinners. Living in a Christian family is not sufficient.

o Conversion is a matter of the heart. A person who loves his life in this world will lose it. Such people shrink from the decision to accept the Lord Jesus as their Saviour and will be eternally lost.
“... He who loves his life will lose it ...” (John 12:25)

Today’s reading: Exodus 24:1-18 · Luke 9:28-36

NO FOOD FOR THE LAZY MAN

Laziness is not a Christian virtue in any way. Our Lord Jesus Christ made this clear by His lifestyle of hard work while here on earth. A lifestyle of laziness is outrightly rejected in Scriptures typified by today's Bible reading. It is amazing that some people are still expecting God to rain manna on earth! It does...More
