God is good!

Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.
Psalm 107:1

God is good!
We find many passages in the Bible that speak of the goodness of God. They encourage us to walk the path of faith with Him every day.

o Awareness of God’s goodness prompts us to seek help and protection from Him. “How precious is your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of man put their trust under the shadow of Your wings” (Psalm 36:7).
o When we have stumbled, God’s goodness leads us to repentance and confession: “For You, LORD, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You” (Psalm 86:5).
o God’s goodness encourages us to pray to Him and present our concerns to Him: “But as for me, my prayer is to You, O LORD, in the acceptable time; O God, in the multitude of Your mercy, hear me in the truth of Your salvation” (Psalm 69:13).
o Because we know that God is good, we desire to live in reverence toward Him: “For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him” (Psalm 103:11).
o God’s goodness remains even when human supports fail: “For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but My kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace be removed, says the LORD, who has mercy on you” (Isaiah 54:10).
o Until we reach our destination, we can rely daily on the goodness of our faithful God: “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever” (Psalm 23:6).

YOU CAN BE HIS WITNESS

BEFORE YOU GET ANGRY

Yesterday we learnt it is not right for us to get angry with God or to take offence against Him, even if we experience the deferment of our hopes. The example of John the Baptist who earlier acknowledged Jesus as the Messiah, but later doubted Him because of his painful experience of incarceration is a warning...More

Luke 2:45

We might as well face it, strife has even infiltrated our church life. It is true enough that the Church is now the Church militant. But, as such, its warfare ought to be that of dedication to revealed truth and divine...More
