If our expectation of the Lord Jesus fills...

For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
Philippians 3:20-21

If our expectation of the Lord Jesus fills our hearts and makes us happy, then it will be noticeable on earth that we are heavenly citizens. Heavenly life can only be evident in those who already live in unclouded fellowship with Christ and know heaven to be their future dwelling place. Our hearts cannot possibly enjoy fellowship with Him and simultaneously enjoy the pleasures of the world.
The apostle Paul longed for a full knowledge of Christ and fellowship with Him in glory. His eyes were directed towards heaven, from where he awaited Him. Paul had laid aside all that might come between him and the glorified Christ. He could thus live in the joyful expectation of his Lord's coming.
Do we live in this expectation day by day? Is that the hope whose brilliance lights up our pathway of faith? How much comfort and strength for our daily we find in it! And the more this hope is a living reality within us, the less trials and difficulties will discourage us.
We are still our "lowly body" that suffers under the difficulties of life. But contemplating Christ in glory and trusting in His promises, we receive strength to withstand all adversity. Whether the Lord comes today, or difficult years lie ahead of us, the expectation of His coming to take us home enables us to overcome the trials of the wilderness journey. He is coming: that is certain!
Today's reading: Acts 4:23-37

OFFENDED IN CHRIST?

The Christian race must be run with lots of patience or else it will be bungled midway. If you are inpatient with Gods timing, you will not only get into trouble but may not be able to finish the race. A good number of backsliders derailed from their heavenly track because of impatience. In Matthew 11:6 Jesus...More

Jehovah appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre. And...

Jehovah appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre. And he sat at the tent-door in the heat of the day. And he lifted up his eyes and saw, and behold, three men standing near him.
(Genesis 18:1)

The spiritual elevation of Abraham in Genesis 18 and 19 is something very peculiar. He seems...More

THE HOLY SPIRIT

It is one thing to receive the anointing and another to keep growing on it. There are people who had the anointing, but today, everything has virtually ebbed out. It is possible to connect with the Holy Spirit and to continue to flow in the power of the anointing even at increasing levels. If this is your desire,...More

BEFORE YOU GET ANGRY

Yesterday we learnt it is not right for us to get angry with God or to take offence against Him, even if we experience the deferment of our hopes. The example of John the Baptist who earlier acknowledged Jesus as the Messiah, but later doubted Him because of his painful experience of incarceration is a warning...More
