The gospel – a unique message

I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.
Romans 1:16

The gospel - a unique message
The biblical message of redemption is of divine origin. That makes it unique. People like to place God's salvation on the same level as any other religion. However, it must be distinguished fundamentally from all human conceptions of God and the manner by which we can enter into a relationship with Him. Let us list some of the basic differences:

In no other religion has God left heaven in order to save mankind. About 2,000 years ago, however, the eternal Son of God, Jesus Christ, came to earth. He became a Man and dwelt among us here.

In all other religions man seeks to attain to God by some means or other. But none achieves its aim. In the gospel, on the other hand, God turns to man in Jesus Christ. With the death of His Son at the cross He bridges the gulf that has arisen through sin and grants whoever believes eternal redemption.

The founders of all other religions died and have remained dead. Christ is the only One who left His grave alive, never to die again. God Himself resurrected Him and thus declared His sacrificial death to be valid and efficacious.

Man endeavours to redeem himself by his own efforts in every other religion. The gospel shows us that God has Himself done everything. Man can add nothing to His Son's redemptive work. Every believer is cleansed from all sin by the blood of Jesus.

Today's reading: Exodus 29:31-46 · Luke 12:22-34

It is possible to connect with the Holy Spirit and to continue to flow in the power of the anointing even at increasing levels. If this is your desire,...More

TOUCH NOT

In today's Bible reading, while David and his men were away, the Amalekites invaded Ziklag, defeated the city and set it on fire, after which they took members of their families - wives, sons and daughters as captives. When they returned and saw the situation of Ziklag, David and his men were really distressed,...More
