A promise from God our Saviour

Come to me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28

A promise from God our Saviour
Society has changed so much over the past few years that many no longer know where to find their feet. Others despair in face of the uncertain future. Nowadays people are being forced to reject all sense of morality, so as to be free regarding sexuality, divorce, abortion, drugs etc.. The claim that we can ourselves decide what is good or evil leads to making all kinds of behaviour that God condemns commonplace and even legalising them. Governments legislate under the pressure of public opinion, which, under the pretext of liberty, enslaves people in their passions and leads to decadence and perdition.

However, for all who are uneasy and worried regarding this development God has a wonderful message: His Son came to make us free. This good news is for all: the worried, the depressed and the dissatisfied. Let us not imagine that the general situation will improve: "Evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived" (2 Timothy 3:13).

But God is speaking to you personally. In face of an unforeseeable future, do not wait. Open a Bible and read the gospels! Jesus Christ will grant you new life, assurance for the future and lasting inner peace: "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid" (John 14:27).

Today's reading: 2 Chronicles 35:1-15 · Revelation 21:1-14

BEFORE YOU GET ANGRY

Yesterday we learnt it is not right for us to get angry with God or to take offence against Him, even if we experience the deferment of our hopes. The example of John the Baptist who earlier acknowledged Jesus as the Messiah, but later doubted Him because of his painful experience of incarceration is a warning...More

Don't Lose Sight

...when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem...
Luke 2:45

We might as well face it, strife has even infiltrated our church life. It is true enough that the Church is now the Church militant. But, as such, its warfare ought to be that of dedication to revealed truth and divine...More
