The roles in marriage

‘Live happily with the woman you love…The wife God gives you is your reward.’ Ecclesiastes 9:9 NLT
Here is an illustration of the different roles in marriage:

A husband’s role is like that of a thermostat—he sets the temperature in the home. The wife’s role is like that of a thermometer—she reflects the temperature. Ideally, the reading of the thermometer should reflect the setting of the thermostat. In other words, if a man wants a warm, loving wife, he must be intentional about not bringing home cold, frosty weather. Here’s another picture: For grapevines to become fruitful, their branches must be elevated. Vinedressers tie them to a post for support because as the grapes grow, the vine becomes heavy and begins to drag on the ground. Elevation keeps the fruit off the soil and exposes it to the full benefit of the sun. Eventually, the branches spread along the post and thrive. Stability leads to fruitfulness. In the same way, when a husband brings stability, strength, and support into the home, a wife can feel secure and cherished. This emotional and spiritual environment allows her to flourish, grow, and reach her God-given potential. Solomon, with divine wisdom, encourages: ‘Live happily with the woman you love…The wife God gives you is your reward…Whatever you do, do well’ (Ecclesiastes 9:9-10 NLT). So, invest love, time, and attention into your marriage. The return on that investment will be a harvest of joy, fulfilment, and lasting blessing. Do your part faithfully—and trust that God will do His.

BROKENNESS

In your relationship with God, one place you need to get to is the place of brokenness. To be broken is to have some form of injury that makes the object less than a whole. In spiritual parlance, it is to break or subdue the flesh in order to be more profitable to the kingdom of God. Why do you need to be broken?...More

DELIVERANCE: DIVINE ASSURANCE

When God speaks, that settles it. He reigns forever. When He gives a decree, it is forever. When He says "surely", it means surely. When He says surely, it will be well with me, nobody can change it. He says surely, by His stripes I am healed, and nobody can change this. He says surely, everything I do shall...More
