A young bank employee spoke about his faith as follows...

The LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting, and his truth endures to all generations.
Psalm 100: 5.

A young bank employee spoke about his faith as follows:

"My parents and grandparents were Christians. Consequently the atmosphere in my family left a distinct mark on me from early on; not only what I heard, but also what I experienced: their actions agreed with their words, the loving care, the readiness to forgive, and the understanding shown in many problems in my life.

"Being a Christian was always a happy experience. At no time in my upbringing was the Bible forced upon me. My parents never subjugated me to piety, but helped me increasingly, as I grew older, to make decisions on my own responsibility. In such freedom I was able to regard a life with God positively. At first I learned children's hymns and Bible stories. Every week I attended the children's service enthusiastically. Later I went to the young people's meetings.

Love of Christ grew in my heart, as did my readiness to dedicate my life to Him. But I was not without my doubts and problems, like "Why is there so much suffering in the world?" I had problems with myself, my parents and school, and occasionally despaired over behaviour that I could not control.

At some stage I grasped the fact that Jesus was all that I needed. He loved me, and I could and should confess my guilt frankly before Him. He received me as I was. Through faith in Him and His death on the cross I had the forgiveness of my sins.

Today I cannot imagine a life without God.

One outstanding need that divine midwives must satisfy is to have their names written in the Book of Life. This is the most important book in the universe. Given modern trends and need for details, most institutions have various books in which records are kept and can be retrieved in years to come. Every...More
