Happy Christians

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Colossians 3:16.

Happy Christians
Believers are often laughed at or pitied, because people think their life is monotonous and cheerless. Today's verse from the Bible proves the very opposite to be true, however:

Jesus Christ grants His own redeemed people a life of enrichment. By reading the Word of God, they discover how great and glorious their Saviour and Lord is. They find spiritual riches in the Bible that make them genuinely and permanently happy.
A person does not become stupid through his relationship to the Lord Jesus. On the contrary, regular reading of the Bible makes Christians wise. This wisdom, of divine origin, has a positive effect on their everyday conduct (cf. ).
People who believe in the Lord Jesus do not lead a futile life. He gives them various tasks to carry out: some propagate the gospel, others teach and admonish believers. Supplication is also an important duty of a Christian.
The life of the redeemed is neither dull nor depressing. They have reason enough for joy and gratitude. They therefore enjoy singing hymns of praise to honour their Lord. Their joy is genuine and infectious.
Two questions now arise: isn't it worth becoming a Christian, even at the cost of the friendship of the world? And do we live as happy Christians, who thereby win souls for the Lord Jesus Christ?

Today‘s reading: Deuteronomy 33: 13 - 29 · Ephesians 3: 1 - 7

Not I but Christ

Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
